No 'Poo Hair Helps: #1 Prewash Rinses...Good even for those NON- NO-POO'ers!

So you decided to try the latest craze and go NO 'Poo?  Though you have read convincing Blog posts touting all about the "joys" of  using all natural baking soda and water with apple cider vinegar rinses-
you are not exactly thrilled with the "mess" you see.

And now your husband who thinks your nuts anyway, because of  going "green" & making your own household cleaners, thinks the "No-Poo" is off the charts WEIRD....
Is NOW snickering in the background....

Ohhh that is just me ?

If there is anyone out there who is determined to stick with this, I am planning on posting some treatments that have helped me or I seen help others.

I will post them regularly and plan on giving you 3-4 in each post, so as not to overwhelm you with too much information...PROMISE!!

By the way even NON-No-Poo'ers WILL LOVE these!!

Pre-wash Formulas:

Conditioning Honey Pre-Wash
This pre-wash will make your hair soft and smooth, honey has a mild cleansing action as well so you might be able to skip a washing.
  • 1/2 C Honey
  • 3 t Warm Olive Oil
  • 4 drops rosemary or tea tree essential oil
1.) Mix ingredietns together and apply to wet/damp hair, (I do this in the shower and combine ingredients in a squeeze bottle with nozzle tip)
2.) Massage into scalp making sure all hair is coated & cover hair with a shower cap (REAL SEXY LOOK!)
3.) Resume with shower and leave on as long as possible up to 30 minutes
4.) Rinse out with cool water (If you take 30 minutes showers this should be NO PROBLEM you have run out of hot water anyway!!)

Banana Conditioning Pre-Wash
BE SURE TO MASH the banana WELL and unless you have Sierra Desert Dry hair you WILL need to wash your hair after!
  • 1 VERY WELL mashed to creamy consistency banana
  • 2-3 t olive oil
  • 1/4 C Whole Milk
1.) Mix ingredients into a bowl and apply with a brush to DRY hair. If you SEE lumps mash more with a potato masher and spoon until  is creamy- NO LUMPS! Lumps will stick to you hair and nearly be impossible to rinse out!
2.) Cover with a shower Cap and start your shower, leaving on for 15-20 min
3.) Wash your with No-Poo or Shampoo of choice as normal

Hair Spray Remover:
Good for those with build up of hair sprays and fixatives or EXTREMELY OILY hair. Who needs this, if you ask it's probably NOT you. Those who need this know how who you are...Be careful using this if you freshly colored your hair, especially red tinted hair, it might cause a bit of fading!
  • 2 Cups of filtered water, warmed
  • 1/4 C of fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 C of Epsom Salts
1.) Add all ingredients in a bowl and allow to sit for 24 hours for epsom salt to dissolve
2.) Pour into a bottle with a nozzle top and apply to dry hair
3.)Massage into scalp and hair leaving on for 20 min
4.) Use your hair cleansing method of choice.

Virgin Coconut Oil  Pre-Wash for For Damaged Thinning Hair:
Because of its chemical structure--can actually penetrate the cortex (the inner part of hair) which can help improve its strength and flexibility. THIS IS FABULOUS for African Ethnicity hair!!Will still need conditoner as it doesn't coat the cuticle (out layer of hair)
  • 1-4 T of Virgin Coconut Oil (depending on hair length and thickness)
  • Plastic Cap
1.) Yep, that is it! Scoop the Virgin Coconut Oil out of Jar, will be in solid of form and will quickly soften from the heat of your hands.
2.) "Smoosh" around in hand until it turns into an oil and run through hair COMPLETELY covering all the hair
3.) Place Cap on your head and go to sleep
4.) Wash in morning with your chosen cleansing method and follow with conditioner if use.

That is the first of many No-Poo helps I plan on posting...
I hope this helps!! :-)
